Dummy Adding Guide

Adding a dummy file
• Intro
• What you need
• Conversion + Adding a dummy
• Burning on Mac using Toast

Intro: Basically what you are doing is adding a dummy file at the start of the disc so the actual game data will be on the outer edge of the disc, making it easier as the laser doesn't have to travel all the way in and back again for the data when its closest to it.

What you need: Dummy Creator for Mac, Binchunker, Toast and NERO Max for Mac.

Conversion + Adding a Dummy: You will first need to Binchunk your BIN File with Mac binchunker (included). Then drag your converted BIN file onto Toast's Disc Image section and click "Mount". Copy the mounted volume to your hard drive and get info on the folder and take note of how many megs it is. We want to fill up the cd so 650 megs minus what the folder size was (leave a few megs gap within your calculations just to make sure we don't go over 650 megs. For example if your folder is 199 megs you calculate 650 - 199 = 451 megs so round that to 445 megs or so)
Once you know how many megs of Dummy space you need launch Dummy Creator and it will prompt you to input how many megs of dummy data you would like. Type the amount in and hit return. Dummy Creator will then create a file called "Empty Space" in the same directory.

Next launch Nero Max and go into the preferences menu and set the Mode to "Mode 1" and the ISO Form "Iso Level 2" and click "Set". Under the "Edit" menu select "New.." and type in any name for the folder. Highlight the new folder you just created and click "delete" and you are left with a "Root" directory. Now drag your "Empty Space" dummy file you created earlier to the Root directory in Nero Max making sure it's the first in the list. Then you can drag the files from your bin volume you extracted with Toast. Make sure you just grab all the files by selecting them all and not just dragging the folder to Nero.

Double click on the Trk1 in Track edit and set the options as follows:
Mode: Mode 1
Reading format : Iso Level 2
ISO9660 Settings: Make sure "Record more than 8 levels" and "Add :1 after the filename" are checked.
Then click "Set" and your ready to burn. If you wish to burn in Nero Max simply click "Record".
If you wish to burn in Toast, in Nero Max under the "Record" menu select "Create Image" and you will be asked to save. Read Below for Toast burning instructions.

Burning on Mac using Toast: If you can't burn with NERO max for some reason, just locate your newly saved ISO and drag it on the "Disc Image" section of Toast, then simply write the CD.
Please note, not all games will take advantage of the Speed Loads method, nor will every game work with this method, may it be due to the game itself or other issues.
